My name is Lu.
If your voice sometimes shakes, don’t worry - mine does too, and I believe that’s a good thing! It usually means we’re onto something big!
That’s why I’m here. My goal is to create a space where we can learn together how to trust our voices and speak our truth in many areas of our lives with courage and kindness at the core.
I don't believe in encouraging women just to be louder…
Instead, I want to understand why we sometimes hold back and how we can move through that resistance to finally feel seen, empowered & supported.
You’ll find real stories from my own journey, lessons I'm still learning, and wisdom from authors, celebrities, & thinkers who are speaking their own truth in an effort for us to hear our own.
A Little About Me...
As an Emmy Award-winning TV news anchor, I've spent decades learning just how powerful words can be. They can inform and inspire, but they can also wound and divide. It’s incredibly important what words we choose and why.
Over the years, I've covered some of the most defining stories of our time including presidential elections, natural disasters, 9-11, & the pandemic.
But I’ve also had the thrill of interviewing hundreds of Hollywood stars including Tom Cruise, Sharon Stone & Bradley Cooper.
Before I became a journalist, I was a high school English Literature teacher, and somewhere along the way, I also won the title of Miss USA. (Still pinching myself about that one.)
For years, I've been paid to use my voice.
Whether it's ad-libbing breaking news, speaking on stage, or in a classroom, my voice has long been my livelihood. Now I also want to use it to help others like you and myself find the freedom & courage to say, “I’m here & my voice matters!”
I’m looking forward to finding ways to rise together.
We’ll also be talking a lot about the power of kindness.
At my core, I believe kindness connects, heals, and reminds us of our shared humanity. Through my company, Be Kind & Co., I’ve spent years highlighting people & companies who share that same philosophy.
